Who’s in your corner? The people with whom you share your good news and your worries. The partner, the friend, the colleague, the mentor, whom you turn to for encouragement, support, and personal development. The people who speak highly of you when you’re not in the room.
Ensuring you have a strong support network is vital for supporting your mental health. Our relationships are a core need. People who support you come in many forms.
Chatting to someone who wants to support you can make you feel powerful on your journey If you’re finding life difficult or feeling overwhelmed with the ongoing changes, such as returning to the office. Reach out and let one or two of your support networks know. Sometimes we think if we are feeling crap, those closest will see. Poor mental health can sometimes make you feel isolated from others, even invisible.
Sharing your thoughts may just make you feel better and stronger. Sometimes it is easier for people looking in on your life to help rather than if you are in the middle of it, you may not see the bigger picture.
Having a mix of a support network is healthy. When big changes are happening, be it a career change, relationship changes, it is great to be able to talk it out a few times. So, you have a different perspective on views and life.
Remember, as you are climbing up the mountain of life, there are people around you empowering and enabling you to keep going. Start today, reach out, wouldn’t you want those people to reach out to you if they wanted help. They are your support network.
