I love nothing better than to go for a cycle and on my journey chat to light-minded people I meet along the way. Getting outdoors and into your community can be a powerful way to build new friendships. Even if it’s to chat about the weather, which we so love to do in Ireland!

The world is changing, with technology driving more of our day-to-day interactions online. As employees embrace working from home in the new normal, we need to find ways to ensure meaningful connections remain with colleagues. So no one is feeling isolated and lonely. Even if it’s to meet up for a cuppa or a walk. Let us keep an eye on each other.

As we raise awareness for mental health this week with the official theme loneliness in the UK. Let us empower each other to build positive relationships with family, friends, colleagues and in our communities. The past couple of years has highlighted the effects of loneliness. Many were deprived of face-to-face social connection, which gives our lives meaning. Loneliness affects many of us at various times in our life and can be a contributing factor to poor mental health.

Let us connect. The next time you are passing someone, say hello! You may just make their day.

Today I am delivering module 6 on Digital Wellbeing to a Global company. The theme is powering down to power up.
